Gallery Bafa Foto prides itself to be one of the few art galleries in Geneva dedicated exclusively to contemporary photography. Bafa Foto opened its doors in May 2009 in the contemporary art centre of Geneva, Quartier des Bains, few steps away from MAMCO and Geneva’s Photography Centre. Launched by François Chabanian and Katia Arnth-Jensen, it is a sister gallery to the already established Bel-Air Fine Art.
Gallery Bafa Foto shows works of a large number of young, international photographers, as well as renowned artists who are encouraged to interact with the public and art collectors through talks, interviews and performances. The young and dynamic approach of its directors ensures that the exhibition programme changes frequently, always introducing new and exciting artists to the gallery’s visitors. One of Bafa Foto’s main focus is to curate interesting group shows four times a year, brining together different views and approaches of contemporary artists on specific themes. Aside from organising its main exhibitions, gallery Bafa Foto works closely with many well established photography galleries in Europe and in the US and helps private collectors in commencing or enlarging their photography collections.
